Questions about the moving cost statistics

Are these actual moving prices?

Yes. The prices come from actual moves handled through Coastal Moving Services. They are not copied from a general national average or another moving website.

Why do you not list the total number of moves?

Our total move volume is private company information. We still share the routes, actual price ranges, shipment sizes, and move types so customers can understand what the numbers cover.

Will my move cost the same amount?

Not necessarily. These are actual prices from past moves, but your price will depend on your inventory, route, services, access conditions, dates, and any changes to the move.

What does median price mean?

The median is the middle price in a group of moves. It can be more helpful than an average because a few unusually large moves are less likely to make the typical price look higher than it is.

What should I compare first?

Start with shipment size, then compare move type and route. Packing, storage, difficult access, specialty items, and timing can also materially change a quote.

How can I get a price for my move?

Use the moving cost calculator for an initial planning figure or request a personalized written quote when your inventory, route, dates, and services are known.
