Does my Los Angeles apartment or condo require a Certificate of Insurance?
Some buildings require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) from the moving carrier before allowing a truck or crew onto the property. Ask your building manager about insurance requirements, service-elevator reservations, loading access, and permitted moving hours. We can communicate those requirements to the assigned carrier, whose insurer supplies the certificate. Your building must approve the paperwork before the move.
Do I need a parking permit for a moving truck in Los Angeles?
Not every move requires a permit, but you may need to reserve curb space if the truck cannot park legally near your entrance. The City of Los Angeles handles temporary no-parking sign requests through LADOT, while neighboring cities have their own procedures. West Hollywood, for example, requires moving-related temporary no-parking applications at least five business days in advance. Check the rules for your exact address before arranging truck access.
Can you arrange a move from a hillside home in Hollywood Hills or Laurel Canyon?
We can review the access conditions when arranging your interstate move. Tell us if your street is narrow, your driveway is steep, or a large moving truck cannot reach the entrance. Photos of the driveway, street approach, and loading area can help the assigned carrier determine whether a smaller shuttle vehicle or additional carrying arrangements will be needed. Any additional services should be discussed before the estimate is finalized.
What if my building allows moves only during certain hours?
Give us your building’s approved moving hours before choosing a pickup date. If you’re leaving a Downtown Los Angeles high-rise or another managed property, confirm whether the freight elevator or loading dock must be reserved separately. We’ll communicate the restrictions to the carrier and check whether the requested pickup window can be accommodated. Arrival times remain subject to the carrier’s confirmed schedule and road conditions.
Can you arrange moves within Los Angeles County or elsewhere in California?
Our interstate moving service covers relocations from Los Angeles to other states. Moves entirely within California, including Los Angeles to Pasadena or San Diego, fall under separate California household-moving regulations. Contact us with both addresses so we can confirm the available service and applicable licensing requirements before you book.
Can I include a piano, large artwork, or oversized furniture in my move?
Tell us about these items when preparing your inventory, rather than leaving them for moving day. A piano, large framed artwork, heavy safe, or oversized sofa may require additional equipment, protective materials, or a carrier experienced with that type of item. We’ll check the handling requirements with the assigned carrier and confirm any specialty services that can be included in your estimate.
How much does an interstate move from Los Angeles cost?
Among 124 interstate bookings originating in Los Angeles and scheduled between January 2025 and April 2026, our median estimated price was $3,167. The middle half of those estimates ranged from $2,556 to $4,572. These were prices recorded at booking, not final customer invoices. Your estimate will depend on the destination, the furniture and boxes being moved, and the services required at both addresses. You can also review our broader moving cost statistics.
Can you arrange a last-minute move out of Los Angeles?
We can check carrier availability for a short-notice interstate move, although same-day pickup cannot be guaranteed. Let us know your destination, inventory, preferred date, and any building or parking restrictions. If your property requires advance approval for an elevator, loading dock, or insurance certificate, those arrangements may affect the earliest available pickup.
